Justice Advisory Council Announces Request for Proposals (RFP) for Violence Prevention, Recidivism Reduction and Restorative Justice Grant Opportunities

Cook County's Justice Advisory Council (JAC) has announced their Request for Proposals (RFP) for Violence Prevention, Recidivism Reduction and Restorative Justice Grant opportunities. This is the second round of RFPs for FY 2016, with a total of $1,260,000 for thirty-nine (39) grant opportunities at various funding levels. 

To achieve their goal of equitable geographic distribution and diversity in programming, the JAC respectfully requests your assistance in publicizing this funding opportunity. Please share the announcement and instructions provided below as broadly as you see fit. 

The grants included in this round of RFPs are: 

 

  • Seven (7) Violence Prevention, Intervention and Reduction Demonstration Grants awarded in the amount of $100,000 each;
  • Eight (8) Violence Prevention, Intervention and Reduction Demonstration Grants awarded in the amount of $40,000 each;
  • Twenty-four (24) capacity building grants in the areas of Violence Prevention, Recidivism Reduction, and Restorative Justice in the amount of $10,000, at least eight (8) of which are designated for Violence Prevention, Intervention and Reduction. 

This is the last round of RFPs that will be issued by the JAC this fiscal year. The JAC issues RFPs to identify appropriate partner agencies that will assist the County, using JAC funds, in implementing programs that meet specific objectives which are described in each respective RFP. The RFPs listed are currently available for download and can be accessed at http://legacy.cookcountygov.com/purchasing/bids/listAllBids.php (see instructions below). All propsal submissions are due on WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. Late proposals will NOT be accepted. 

Submission details are contained in each RFP. The JAC will also host a Pre-Proposal Conference on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. (see the RFP for details), where potential applicants can ask questions and get more information regarding each funding opportunity. Instructions for Accessing RFPs: 

Step 1: Go to http://legacy.cookcountygov.com/purchasing/bids/listAllBids.php

Step 2: Click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page. You must be registered to download RFP documents. If you are already registered, login to enter the site (Returning Customer). If not, click the "Continue" button under "New Customer" and follow the onscreen prompts to complete the registration process. 

Step 3: Once you are logged in, scroll down to the appropriate bid number as follows: 

For Violence Prevention, Recidivism Reduction and Restorative Justice Capacity Building Grants ($10,000), select "Bid Number: 1653-15478" 


For Violence Prevention, Intervention and Reduction Demonstration Grants ($40,000), select "Bid Number: 1653-15493"

For Violence Prevention, Intervention and Reduction Demonstration Grants ($100,000), select "Bid Number: 1653-15486"  

Step 4: Check the box next to the Bid Number you wish to download and then click the "Download" button at the bottom of the page. 

Step 5: When the new screen appears, you will see a list of bid openings. If there are multiple bids listed, locate the correct Bid Number and double-click the document links from the list in the green shaded area (to the right) to download the documents.
